NF&SC is located in area of 5 acres of land on a terrain track on Nagpur–jaripatka, nara road . IFS has modern infrastructure and facilities such as well ventilated class rooms, modern laboratory, practical ground, hostel building, mess, latest books Library, film and video library, training center, computerized information’s, exhibition gallery and latest equipment’s for live practical of fire fighting at its Institute’s premises
As the Fire Services are uniform Services and also fourth line of Defense forces discipline, physical fitness, Squad drills etc. regular schedule in training program me. Physical fitness is conducted is Half Pant and T Shirt, theory classes are to be attended in uniform and fire drill are conducted in overall with Gumboots and Safety Helmets. The daily schedule start from 0600 Hrs to 0700 Hrs with Physical fitness exercises, 1000 Hrs to 1330 Hrs, theory classes are to be attended in uniform and 1500 Hrs to 1700 Hrs fire drill are conducted in overall with gumboots and safety helmet
These above courses are residential courses. Institute is providing facility for boarding and lodging on nominal charges for all the students of above-mentioned courses.
This Institute has its own full-fledged library consisting of textbooks, reference books, technical journals, Indian and Foreign Journals and periodicals on various subjects of Fire Safety, Industrial Safety and Industrial Security, CD & Video Films on Fire Engineering.
Three or Four week’s practical attachment is being given to the personnel in major cities or industries. The expenditure is the borne by the individual itself.
NF&SC has equipped with playing accessories and wide play ground which is used for playing and drills as well.
A constructive rapport is always established between Teaching Faculties and trainees are it personal or related to training or course.
India is in the midst of rampant growth on all fronts and hence the overwhelming demand for skilled, professionally trained manpower to safeguard Industrial units in fields as diverse as Refineries, Heavy Engineering Manufactures, Automobile Manufactures, Textile, Airports, Ports, Building Industry, Power Sector, Telecom Sector. To state the facts the Fire Fighting Industry is worth Rs. 3000 corers annually. The fact that the personnel are required for this Industry cannot be met by the supply of today.
The Students of “Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety and Security Management " and “Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering” and PG Diploma in Fire & Safety Management" can be appointed either Station Fire Officer or Asst. Station Fire Officer in State Fire Services and Fire Officer or Asst. Fire Officer in Industrial Fire Services depending upon their basic qualification.
The Students who pass “One Year Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering” are eligible for Sub-Officer,Fire Supervisor, Leading Fireman and who pass. “Six Months Certificate in Fire Safety Engineering” are eligible for Fireman/Fire Tender Drivers/ Pump Operator (those who are having valid HMV license) depending upon their basic qualification.
The NF&SC was established under Government Registrations act Nagpur and running training campus at Nirmal Colony, Nara road ,Nagpur over an area of 5 acres of land, 4km away from Nagpur Railway Station.
